Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes


Is the property I book on the Internet the one I will get?

We will confirm and assign you to the specific unit requested at the time of booking.  However, we are unable to guarantee that specific home or condo 100% of the time.   There are many unforeseen circumstances that may render the accommodations unsuitable or unavailable for rent.  In this rare situation, you will be contacted immediately and provided with the option of either a full refund or an opportunity to stay in an equivalent accommodation of ours (if available).  


What is required to make a reservation?

When you find the property of your choice you can either book the property online or call us at 1-800-356-1861. When making your reservation we require a two night deposit. The remaining balance is processed at check-in. 


What is the check-in & check-out time?
___________________________________________________________________
Most properties will be available for check-in at 4pm. An early check-in may be possible; some units have an additional fee for a guaranteed early check-in.
Check out time is 11:00 a.m.  A late check out may be available if there is not a guest arriving into the rental property.


What is your Cancellation and Refund Policy?

All advance payments are fully refundable up until 14 day prior to your arrival.  Refunds will be given for all unused nights in the event of a mandatory evacuation for severe weather is issued in this area only.  

How will I receive my confirmation and arrival instructions from Pirates Bay?
___________________________________________________________________
All confirmation and arrival instructions will be sent via email. To make certain you receive these emails, please adjust your spam filter to add the domain piratesbaycondo.com to your list of accepted email addresses. You will receive a reservation confirmation including directions and arrival instructions via email within minutes of making your reservation.  If you have not received these emails, please contact us at (800)356-1861.


How many people are allowed to stay in each condo at Pirates Bay?

The maximum occupancy for each property is established by the individual homeowner and will be listed in the unit description section on the website or will be provided by your Vacation Planner if booking over the phone with us. Please adhere to this policy for the individual property you select to avoid the possibility of an eviction with all rent payments forfeited. 


Is there a fully equipped kitchen in all vacation rentals?
___________________________________________________________________
No, not every condo has a fully equipped kitchen but all will have at least a small kitchenette of some sort.  The 1-Bedroom Condo's at Pirates Bay will have a fully equipped kitchen while the studio units will have a two-eye stove top but no oven.   The studio condo's will also have a microwave and mid to full-size fridge while the one-bedroom condo's all have full-sized refrigerator's .  All units will have dishes, bowls and silverware provided in them.


Are linens and towels provided?

Yes, there are linens and towels provided in each vacation rental. All bedding is provided and towels are supplied.  Beach towels are not included so we recommend that you bring your own from home.


Are the condos cleaned daily?
___________________________________________________________________
Yes, all short-term stays will be provided with a daily trash, towel and bed tidy.  They will remove your trash, replenish your towels and make the bed.  This will not be included for residents or renters staying more than 30 days.   


Are the properties Non-Smoking?
___________________________________________________________________
Yes, all of our properties are strictly Non-Smoking. 


Are security deposits required?
___________________________________________________________________
Yes but you will be given two separate options.  The first option (which we recommend) is a $39 non-refundable Security Deposit and will cover you and your guests up to $3000 in unintentional damages.  It is essentially an insurance policy that we take out on you with CSA Travel Protection for the possibility of unintentional damages within the rental unit.  The second option is fully refundable pending an inspection on your departure but will require a cash payment or credit card authorization of $500. Guest acknowledges Pirates Bay's authority to charge your credit card for any intentional damages or unintentional damages that exceed $3000.  If a cash or credit card deposit is given, it will be returned within 10-14 days after departure.  Cash deposits will be mailed to guest in the form of a company check.


How should I leave the property?

Although a housekeeping attendant comes before you arrive and after you leave to ensure the property is clean, you are responsible for leaving the property in the condition you received it in. You are renting some one's condo and you should leave it the way you would want your own left. Excess cleaning, if needed, will be held from your security deposit. 


Is there a charge for extra keys?

For all of the properties, you will be given a set of hard keys that you will assume responsibility for. We are available 24 hours a day on our emergency extension should you get locked out of your property. A re-key charge of $25 per key will be collected for any lost or un-returned keys. 


What about grilling?
___________________________________________________________________
Public charcoal grills will be available to all guests.  There is one for each of the buildings at Pirates Bay.


What about house parties or noise complaints?
___________________________________________________________________
Rental Guest understands that we will accept families, married couples and responsible adults. You certify that you have read carefully the limitations placed on the number of persons permitted to occupy the premises, and agree to abide by such limitations: if not, you will be asked to leave with no refund. Any noise complaints will be dealt with on an individual basis.

Any use of the rental property for a purpose other than residential use for a family vacation must be approved by Pirates Bay. A request must be submitted before arrival for use for any event such as weddings, receptions, family reunions or other large gatherings. If the event is approved, the Guest may be required to pay an additional deposit.  Pirates Bay reserves the right to cancel your rental reservation and occupancy of rental with no refund if Guest misrepresents an event. 


Are pets allowed?

Pets of any kind are strictly forbidden for all Pirates Bay renters.  If you see a pet on the premises, it will most likely be the pet of an owner in the building.
